Text-to-911 Service to Be Available Nationwide in 2014

The four largest carriers in the U.S. also agreed to offer an automated “bounce back” message by June 2013 alerting people who text 911 if their message wasn’t received, according to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski.
